Rana elected Deputy Chairman of J-K Legislative Council

Ruling National Conference MLC Javed Rana was today elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council.

Rana's name was proposed by Leader of the House Ajay Sadhotra and Congress MLC Bashir Ahmad Magray and seconded by D S Rana of National Conference and N K Gupta of Congress.

He was declared elected after a voice vote.

The post had fallen vacant after the term of incumbent Mohammad Yousuf Taing as MLC had expired last year.
