Cardamom prices were up 1.02 per cent to Rs 823.70 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions amid rising demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June gained Rs 8.20, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 823.70 per kg, in a business turnover of 61 lots.
The spice for delivery in May was up by Rs 7.80, or 1.00 per cent, to Rs 780.10 per kg with trading volume of just 146 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators on the back of rise in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from growing regions, mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
