Amid pick up in domestic and exports demand in the spot market against tight stocks position, cardamom prices were up by 0.80 per cent to Rs 1,127.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November moved up by Rs 8.90, or 0.80 per cent, to Rs 1,127.90 per kg, in a business turnover of 22 lots.
On similar lines, the spice for delivery in October traded higher by Rs 4.50, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 1,136 per kg in eight lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built-up by traders owing to uptick in domestic and exports demand at the physical markets against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly attributed the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
