: Television entertainment channel Star India Wednesday said it has launched 'Star Value Pack' making sports and other infotainment channels accessible to every Indian at a price what it claims as unbelievable
Star has come out with a value pack for Karnataka at Re 1 a day, executive vice-president of Star India S Rajaraman told reporters here.
He said the entertainment company has built its offerings around drama, sports and infotainment which any household would require.
Rajaraman said the seven value packs have been designed with regional flavour in Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil.
He said the package that comes with a bunch of channels offers Star Sports 1 in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil apart from three sports channels.
He said there were also entertainment, movie, sports and educational programmes on offer except for Kannada and Tamil where the category 'movie' is not included.

Rajaraman said each package has national geographic and Nat Geo Wild.
He said the value pack starts from Rs 25 to a maximum of Rs 49 per month whereas Star Premium pack ranges from Rs 69 to Rs 79 per month. These tariffs exclude taxes, he said.
Star Premium has all the four packages including Star World, Star Movies and Fox Life apart from the channels offered in value pack, he said.
The premium channels come in high- definition and the rates were nominal, Rajaraman said.
Star has been in the country for 25 years aiming at providing entertainment programmes at an affordable price and the channel.
