Sterling & Wilson commissions 90MW solar plant in South Africa

Engineering firm Sterling and Wilson today said it has commissioned a 90 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in South Africa.
The Indian company had bagged the contract from Solar Capital De Aar to set up the 90 MW plant in the Northern Cape region of South Africa.
"We have delivered to Solar Capital De Aar a technologically advanced and optimised solar power plant within the tight time-frame of 10 months," the company's President (electrical and solar business) Bikesh Ogra said in a statement.
The project is part of the South Africa Government's Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme, it said adding the power produced by the plant will be purchased by Eskom, that country's state electricity firm.
