A 21-year-old student of an engineering college was arrested today for allegedly making an obscene video of his classmate and blackmailing her.
Vipin Sharma has been arrested under section 507 (criminal intimidation) and section 509 (act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC on the complaint of the victim, police department in-charge Soma Malik said.
The victim rang up the police women's cell and stated that Vipin made an obscene video to blackmail her, due to which she would end her life, Malik said.
"We consoled her and called her to our office. Later, we called Vipin and arrested him," Malik said.
