Student drowns in river

An 18-year-old boy today drowned in the Tamiraparani river while taking bath, police said.

The student of the Madurai American college had gone on a tour to Papanasam with his friends and drowned while taking bath. Though he was pulled out, he died en route to hospital, police said.

A case has been registered.
