Surprise checks were today conducted in over 900 government schools in during which several teachers were found absent from duty.
During the checks carried out in 950 schools, 60 teachers were found absent, 184 were late and 32 were found to be absent for long time, Director Primary Instruction (DPI) Balbir Singh Dhol said.
A team of education department special teams visited 483 schools of Jalandhar circle, 244 schools of Nabha (Patiala) circle and 223 schools of Faridkot circle to ensure discipline and punctuality.
