Suspected Maoist sent to two day police custody

: A local court today sent suspected Maoist Reena JoiceMary to two days police custody in connection with alleged activites of the ultra left wing activists in Tamil Nadu.

She had escaped from Kodaikanal about three years back with three others after a male accomplice was shot dead

Police said Mary was nabbed at Padappai near Kancheepuramthree weeks back.

As Kodaikanal police wanted to question her about those who had escaped with her and also about activities of Maoists in Tamil Nadu, she was brought to Judicial Magistrate I court here for seeking police custody, they said.

Judicial Magistrate Bala Murugan granted police 48 hour custody from 7 PM today.
