Suspected NDFB(S) cadre held, arms seized

A suspected NDFB(S) militant was arrested and a cache of arms and ammunition seized from him in Sonitpur district, police said today.

Superintendent of Police of Biswanath Chariali Police District under Sonitpur, Manabendra Dev Ray said the suspected militant was apprehended from Karibil near Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border last night.

He has been identified as Manas Swargiwari, Ray said.

The SP said a US-made 7.65 mm pistol, its magazine, live ammunition and some documents were recovered from the NDFB(S) cadre.
