Press Trust of India New Delhi
A Lok Sabha MP from Tamil Nadu has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about the "negligence" shown towards Tamil films in the centenary film festival being organised here by the I&B Ministry.

In his letter dated April 23, CPI MP P Lingam alleged that the Tamil film industry has been "completely ignored" in the centenary celebrations of Indian cinema.

The event, which began here yesterday, will conclude on April 30.

The MP from Tamil Nadu's Tenkasi constituency appealed to the Prime Minister to direct the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to take steps to ensure that Tamil films and film personalities also get "due recognition and honour".
