Teacher arrested for sexually harassing minor girl

A 52-year-old school teacher was today arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a minor girl at a school at Bijagarni village in Belagavi Rural police limits.

The teacher had sexually harassed a seventh standard girl at Marathi higher primary school a few days ago following which he was manhandled by some villagers and handed over to police, Deputy Superintendent of police Anupam Agarwal said.

The teacher, speaking to reporters at a hospital where he was referred for a medical check up, denied the charges but the villagers insisted that he misbehaved with the girl, he said.
