A group of teachers of a government college here today boycotted classes to protest against assault on the Principal allegedly by ABVP activists.
The ABVP, however, accused a teacher of Government College, Sanjauli, of beating up two students, including a girl, and demanded action on the complaint filed by the girl.
They also accused the teacher of instigating some NSUI activists.

The General Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Government College Teachers Association (HPGCTA), R L Sharma, who had given the boycott call, dubbed the complaint of the girl as "false" and motivated.
He said that out of the five accused, four have been arrested while one of them is still at large and the teachers would be forced to intensify the stir and even go on an indefinite strike, if all the accused are not arrested.
Principal Joginder Singh Negi was allegedly assaulted by some ABVP activists yesterday and his wife, who is also a teacher in the college, was roughed up following which five students were booked by the police.
ABVP General Secretary Ashish said that they had gathered at the college campus to gherao the principal and the trouble arose after a professor of the college instigated some students owing allegiance to NSUI.
He alleged that the professor had threatened a student against joining ABVP and a complaint in this regard was filed by him in Lakkar Bazaar police station on August 20.
The ABVP demanded an impartial enquiry into the matter and threatened to gherao the SP and police station if action was not taken against the professor.
Meanwhile, terming the incident as unfortunate, Himachal Pradesh University Vice Chancellor A D N Bajpai today constituted a high-level committee to enquire into the incident and appealed to the students to stay disciplined.
