A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house here, the police said today.
Maya Meghwal hanged herself from the ceiling of her house late last evening, ASI Deshraj said.
According to the police, the incident occurred when the parents of the girl were away. The neighbours, who saw her hanging, informed her parents and the police. The girl was taken to a hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead, the ASI said.
The reason behind her taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained and no suicide note has been found, the police said.
The body was handed over to the parents after post- mortem, the ASI said, adding that a case has been registered.
