Teenage boy found dead in Meerut

A 17-year-old boy who was missing since Tuesday was found dead in Zakir Colony area here with the police suspecting that he was stoned to death.

The battered body of Aurangzeb, a ninth class student, was recovered from an empty plot in Zakir Colony yesterday, Kotwali Circle Officer Rupesh Kumar said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, police added.

Prima facie the murder seems to be the fall-out of a love affair between the deceased and a girl in his neighbourhood, which had irked some youths from the same locality.

On the complaint of the deceased's family members, police have today registered a case against four youths in this connection, Kumar said, adding efforts are on to nab them.
