Teenage girl killed in firing

A 13-year-old girl was killed when some youths opened fire allegedly following an altercation with her father in Itaua village near Gunnaur town, police said today.

The incident occurred yesterday after the girl's father Vijay Singh had a tiff over some issue with some youths sitting on the terrace of his neighbour after which they opened fire, additional SP Ram Murat Yadav said.

The youths were under the influence of alcohol, he added.

Though Singh escaped unhurt, the bullet hit his daughter Guddo sitting in the courtyard, Yadav said, adding that she was rushed to hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
 

Singh has registered an FIR against five youths including the neighbour and efforts are on to nab the accused, Yadav added.
