Tel woman held for duping people of Rs 1 cr

A 50-year-old woman was arrested today for allegedly cheating people to the tune of Rs 1 crore by promising them jobs in foreign countries and under the guise of export business, the police said.

The accused, identified as T Sheeba Rani, allegedly collected funds from job-seekers and issued fake visas to them, the Rachakonda Police said.

According to police, Rani also collected money from people under the guise of offering them returns from the export of rice and meat.

She was arrested in 2006 on the charge of duping some nurses under the guise of sending them to Dubai after collecting money from them.
 

"In the name of rice and meat export and job seekers abroad on job visas, she has allegedly cheated public to the tune of about Rs 1.03 crore from 2008 to till date," a release from Rachakonda Police Commissionerate said.
