Tension grips old Hyderabad after group clash

Members belonging to different communities pelted stones at each other after alleged burning of a religious flag, police said.

The trouble began at around 9.30 pm after members of a community held demonstrations and raised slogans over removal of the flag that was erected during a recent festival.

Additional police force was deployed in the affected areas of Tappachabutra, Kulsumpura and Jiyaguda, they said, adding the situation was under control.
