After the resounding success of the first two editions of the Tata Community Football Tournament (TCFT), Tata Group companies is all set to kick start the third edition of TCFT in the state of Jharkhand.
This year the tournament has been planned in 48 locations, including 43 in Jamshedpur and five mining location areas, Jamadoba, Noamundi, Manoharpur, West Bokaro and Latehar, according to a press release issued by Tata Steel said.
The tournament, scheduled from June 20-August 9, will showcase contested football matches in both Open and Under-14 categories with 23,000 players from nearly 1500 teams vie for top honour.

While the preliminary rounds will be held at various locations, the quarter-final and semi-final matches will be played in the first week of August. The final will be held on the International Day for Indigenous People on August 9, 2014 at Jaipal Singh Stadium, Karandih here.
The tournament aimed to motivate and facilitate young talents by providing them with a platform to showcase their skills and also intended to identify youth, develop their sporting talent and groom the selected few at the sports academies.
The 1st edition of Tata Community Football Tournament (Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tinplate and Tata Power) was held in the year 201 with teams from across 32 locations comprising a total of 7,680 youth and children participated in the tournament while teams from across 40 locations comprising a total of 19,200 youth and children participated in the 2nd edition held last year.
