Three arrested for burglary, gold worth Rs 5 lakh recovered

Three persons were arrested on charges of burglary and gold worth Rs 5 lakh and two stolen vehicles were recovered from them, police said today.

Mushtaq Ahmad Dar of Naryanbagh (Ganderbal), Abdul Hamid Malik of Eidgah (Srinagar) and Abdul Gani Pujoo of Sumbal (Bandipora) were arrested yesterday by a special anti-burglary team which was formed after a spurt of thefts in Budgam district, a police spokesperson said.

"The arrest of trio led to the recovery of gold worth Rs 5 lakh and two stolen vehicles," he said, adding a probe was on and some more arrests and recoveries expected.
