Three killed in road accident in Cuttack

Three people were killed and two others critically injured when an unidentified vehicle hit their car near here in the wee hours today.

Three people died on the spot, two others were admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack in critical condition, a police official said.

They were on their way to Cuttack from Bhubaneswar, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Trinath Mohapatra, Ratan Jena and Durga Prasad Singh of Madhupatna area here, the official said.

The impact of the collision was such that gas cutters had to be used to get the bodies out of the mangled car, he added.
