The ultras were apprehended during an operation by the elite Special Operation Group (SOG) and CRPF personnel in Barigaon under Laxmipur police limits yesterday, SP Anup Krishna said.

They were identified as Dasaratha, Kamburu and Chintamani, in the age group of 30 to 40 years.

While Dasarath was involved in various Maoist activities, about 13 criminal cases were pending against him. He had also sustained a bullet injury during a combing operation at Basangamali area in 2009.

Though no specific charges were pending against Kamburu and Chintamani, both were close associates of Dasaratha, the SP said.
