Three members of a family drowned when their car plunged into a canal in a village here today, police said.
The family was returning home after attending a marriage function in Jalandhar when the accident happened, police said.
Harjit Singh, his wife Samandip and daughter Ramanprit drowned, they said adding the car rolled down into the canal near Kanganwal village.
Harjit's another daughter survived the crash when she was thrown out of the car when one of its doors opened before the vehicle fell into the canal, police said.
