Three policemen injured by irate villagers

The policemen-- Rajkumar Yadav, Mahendra Yadav and Rishikesh Yadav -- were injured in the incident yesterday and were admitted to the hospital, they said.

The village head of Dasiya among others had organised a religious programme in which they claimed some persons created hurdles, they said.

Agitated on this, the villagers later blocked the Rudhauli-Basti road and when police attempted to clear the jam, the demonstrators allegedly attacked them.

A named FIR has been lodged against 10 persons along with 100 unidentified others in this connection.
