Three sentenced for life in gangrape case

Three persons were sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court here in a 17-year-old gangrape case.

Additional District Judge Amar Pal Singh held the trio guilty yesterday and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on them.

In November 1997, a woman was gangraped by Vijay Gupta, Bhuttu Singh and Amar Jeet Singh in Dokati area.

An FIR was lodged by the victim's father-in-law after which a charge sheet was filed by police in the court.
