Tikariya village has been declared as the first Open Defecation Free (ODF) village in Amethi district.
To celebrate the achievement, a 'gaurav yatra' was organised in the village today. Amethi District Magistrate (DM) CK Pandey and Superintendent of Police (SP) Hira Lal took part in the rally.
The DM urged the villagers to cooperate with the administration in its efforts to execute various plans of the state government effectively.
