Tin prices firms up on persistent demand

Tin prices firmed further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists' buying amid persistent demand from alloy industries.

While, select copper and zinc fell further owing to reduced offtake from industrial users.

Tin rose by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,520 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,500.

However, copper scrap heavy and copper utensil scrap dropped by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 393 and Rs 359 from Rs 397 and Rs 363.

Copper cables scrap, copper armiture, copper wire bar, and copper sheet cutting declined by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 400, Rs 388, Rs 428 and Rs 381 as against Rs 403, Rs 391, Rs 431 and Rs 384.
 

Zinc softened a by Re per kg to Rs 232.
