Odisha's western districts today turned into a heat chamber with Titlagarh and Bhawanipatna recording 44.5 degrees Celsius, while the temperature crossed 42 degrees C in other places.
State capital Bhubaneswar recorded 42.8 degrees C against yesterday's 39 degrees C.
The coastal regions where the mercury crossed 40 degrees mark were Chandbali (40.3) and Cuttack (40.6).

The temperature in interior Talcher was 43.8 degrees C and Angul 42.1.
The MeT office warned that the heatwave condition would continue to prevail for the next 24 hours.
