TNAU Seed Centre chosen as best in the country

Seed Centre-Tamil Nadu Agricultural Univeresity has been awarded the 'Best Seed Technology Research Centre' of Indian Council of Agricultural Research and National Seed Project (CROPs) for 2013-14.

The Centre was chosen from among 23 Centres of State Agricultural Universities and ICAR Institutes in the country, a TNAU press release said today.

The award was in appreciation of its various technological research works, which contributed for the State and National level recommendations to address seed-related issues, benefiting farmers and stakeholders.

The award was given at the 29th Annual Group Meeting of All India Coordinated Research Programme-National Seed Project (NSP-crops) on April 24 at Sher-E Kashmir University of Science and Technology, Srinagar, it said.

The Skills Academy, HDFC Bank launch professional banker Prog * Skill development organisation, Skills Academy has launched a training course for graduates, aimed at bridging the skills-gap in the banking industry and transforming candidates into job-ready professionals.

For this initiative, the Skills Academy has partnered with HDFC Bank to co-develop the content of the training course, titled "The Professional Banker Programme".

Extending to a little over 2 months, the Programme aims to transform graduates under the age of 25, into professionals by training them for various retail banking roles such as personal bankers and tellers.

The 8 week training programme will be a full time course delivered by senior bankers from the industry and will have the right mix of theory, experiential learning and case studies, a company release said.
