TNCC President EVKS Elangovan will lead a protest here tomorrow demanding for implementation of prohibition in Tamil Nadu, Congress' state unit said today.

Former state chiefs and senior leaders will participate in the protest scheduled at Valluvar Kottam, TNCC Communication Wing President A Gopanna said in a release.

Liquor had come to dominate the state politics in recent times with Opposition parties including DMK, Congress, PMK and BJP, besides social activists pressing the ruling AIADMK to implement the dry regime.

Government had however ruled out any such move, expressing fears that closure of state-run retail outlets could lead to hooch and promote anti-social elements.

Alcohol is sold in the state through government's Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation outlets.
