VHP chief Pravin Togadia will tomorrow inaugurate a day-long health care training camp here organised under a campaign launched by him to provide free medical facilities to the poor and needy people in the country.

Basic health care training will be given to interested people during the camp who will then help people in rural and urban areas who lack access to health care services.

"Our objective is to ready a brigade of volunteers who could go to the poor people of both rural and urban areas, arrange medical check up for them and provide relief," said Shibu Bhai, All India Coordinator of India Health Line, which was launched last year by Togadia.

Till now, about 200 people covering all age groups, sections and professions have registered for the camp, regional Coordinator of IHL Ashok Raizada said.

"In this one-day camp, doctors would hold theory and practical sessions for these desirous ambassadors on hypertension, diabetes, anaemia and measurement of BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar and hemoglobin," he said.

These ambassadors will then work actively in the field reaching out to the targeted section and prepare a health card of each based on their diagnosis and proceed the cases accordingly, as the need may be.

Togadia is the national president of IHL, an initiative conceived by him.

"We have so far, 6000 doctors in the entire country, who have agreed to provide free consultancy to such people," said Raizada.
