"One of the communities today tried to stall a mic at a spot to which the other community raised an objection. Initially there were heated exchange of words, which gave way to picketing and firing," Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gulab Singh said.
Three persons were injured in the clash at Borauli village, he added.
District Collector Navdeep Rinwa, who was present at the affected area, said the "situation is now under control."
Security has been tightened in the village to avert any further untoward incident.
