Two persons were found dead due to suspected drug overdose near Saikhamakawn village on the outskirts of the state capital today.
A syringe and phials containing heroin were found near the bodies of Rosanglura (31) and Lalrosanga (34) who were known addicts, Aizawl South Sub Divisional Police Officer F Lalbiakzauva said.
The bodies were discovered by the local people this morning and they informed the Kulikawn Police Station, he said.
At least 38 people, including two women, died in Mizoram last year due to drugs, according to the records of the state excise and narcotics department.
