Two drown in J-K

Two persons got drowned in

separate incidents in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district, police said today.

Mohammad Khatana (75) of Sumbal, Gund died when he accidentally slipped into Sindh river at Gagribal area of the district, a police spokesman said.

He said Khatana's body was later fished out and handed over to his relatives for last rites.

In another incident, Ghulam Mohammad Khan (40), a resident of Naibasti Banjar of the district, died when he fell in a stream at Badamarg, Nakwan, the spokesman said.

Khan's body was retrieved from the stream and later handed over to his relatives for funeral rites, he added.
