Two members of a gang have been arrested for allegedly abducting a property dealer and demanding ransom from him, police said today.
Acting on a tip off, the accused Deepak alias Deepu (31) and Ajeet alias Bhule (28), members of 'Karan Pahalwan gang', were arrested yesterday from Bhairon Mandir here and one country made pistol along with seven live cartridges were recovered from them, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.
During interrogation, the duo said that the gang leader Karan Pahalwan wanted to extort money from one property dealer, Jaswinder Singh. So last Sunday, Karan along with Deepak and Ajeet called Jaswinder near Kharbanda Chowk and abducted him on gun point.

"They took Jaswinder to Sonia Vihar area and demanded Rs 7 lakh from him for his release. They forced him to call his brother who arranged Rs 5 lakh and gave it to them after which Singh was released the same day," Yadav said.
Further investigations are on in the matter, he added.
