Two women held for theft at weddings

Two women have been arrested for allegedly stealing cash and valuables at weddings and picking pockets in local buses, the police said today.

Sandhya (42) and Shabana (28) were caught near a bus stand in Kidwai Nagar yesterday, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ishwar Singh.

With their arrest, the police have recovered four stolen mobile phones and solved six cases of theft.

Sandhya was allegedly involved in seven cases of theft in different areas of Delhi. Shabana has been declared a proclaimed offender in a case registered in 2014 in Kotla Mubarakpur.
