Undertrial dies of suspected heart attack

An undertrial prisoner died of suspected heart attack today in the district jail here, an official said.

Bhure Khan was admitted in the prison's hospital ward on Diwali (November 11) after he complained of chest pain, Deputy Jail Superintendent Mohammad Saleem Khan said.

The 55-year-old died of a suspected heart attack today, he said.

Bhure was sent to jail on November 2 after being arrested for allegedly molesting a minor girl. He was facing charges under relevant sections of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Jail warden Kalu Singh informed the police about his his death following which a case was registered, Station Road Police Station In-charge Ajay Sarwan said.
