Undertrial prisoner commits suicide in Uluberia sub-jail

An undertrial prisoner allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the Uluberia sub-jail in Howrah district today, an official said.

Prashanta Adhak (35), a primary school teacher who was arrested for allegedly molesting a student allegedly hanged himself in the jail, the official said.

Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Uluberia Nikhil Nirmal said an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
