Unidentified youth murders couple

A 32-year old man and his 26-year old wife were hacked to death allegedly by an unidentified person at a village near here today, police said.

Prakash and his wife Jagadambal were at their house in Nochikkattuvalasu when the youth came and attacked the woman with a sickle. Prakash, who tried to save her, was also attacked by him.

The youth fled the scene after the murder, police said.

People who rushed to the spot on hearing their screams found the woman dead and the man battling for life. Though they Prakash to hospital, he also died.
