UP Assembly passes annual budget; opposition remains absent

The Uttar Pradesh Assembly today passed a Rs 3,84,659.71 crore state budget for the fiscal 2017-2018 and the related appropriation Bill.
The appropriation bill of the budget, presented in the House on July 11, was passed by a voice vote today in the absence of the entire Opposition.
The opposition has boycotted five out of the eleven days of this budget session.

Attacking the opposition Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "They are not ready to to hear truth and are not hesitating in violating dignity of the House."
This was the first budget presented by the Adityanath government.
