UP CM suspends officer for over-rating of liquor prices

Hitendra Kumar Shekhar was suspended and a departmental enquiry would be initiated against him, an official release issued here said.

The suspension of the officer came in the wake of the complaints of liquor being sold at prices higher than the fixed rate in Rae Bareli.

Shekhar failed to check over-rating of the prices of liquor and lacked control on his subordinates, the release said, adding that additional excise commissioner has been appointed as the inquiry officer.
