Uptick in demand lifts cardamom futures by 0.81%

Cardamom prices moved up by 0.81 per cent to Rs 1345.20 per kg in futures trade today as participants created fresh positions amid pick up in domestic as well as exports demand and restricted supplies from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December month rose by Rs 10.80 or 0.81 per cent to Rs 1345.20 per kg in business turnover of 42 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in November contracts traded higher by Rs 5.50 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 1283.90 per kg in 9 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions built up by traders due to uptick in domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
