Prices of urad and moong rose by upto Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on increased buying by stockists following pick up in demand against tight supply.
Marketmen said persistent buying by stockists in view of rising demand from dal mills and retailers against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly led to rise in urad and moong prices.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 4,100-5,300 and Rs 4,200-5,200 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and traded higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,200-5,700 and Rs 5,650-5,850 per quintal.
Moong and its dal chilka also seen in demand and gained Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 5,100-5,600 and Rs 5,800-6,000 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality enquired higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,400-6,900 and Rs 6,900-7,100 per quintal respectively.
