Uranium problem in water be tackled on priority: Sukhbir

Badal said he had already sought technical input from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) to tackle the Punjab specific problem.
He was addressing a gathering after paying tributes to Kartar Singh Dhindsa, elder brother of Member Parliament Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa at his 'bhog ceremony' at village Ubhawal.
He said Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has already requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to allocate special budget to tackle the problem of Uranium as it has been done in the case of arsenic and fluoride contamination.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the BARC team was trying to locate the source of uranium contamination and Punjab government was taking all possible measures to provide RO system in Uranium affected areas.
