The Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau today registered a case against Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) president Anurag Thakur and others for "causing obstruction in official work" at its office in Dharamsala on October 24.

"We have registered a case under section 186-B of the IPC against all those who caused obstruction in official work at Vigilance office on October 24 without any reason," Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau superintendent Bimal Gupta said.

Anurag had entered the Vigilance office along with his supporters, including HPCA spokesperson Sanjay Sharma, BJP vice-president Praveen Sharma, MLA Bikram Thakur and some others, despite the Vigilance Bureau having told him in writing to appear before the Investigation Officer in connection with a land-related case on October 31.

Meanwhile, Anurag did not appear before the bureau today in connection with a case registered against HPCA.

However, two other HPCA officials -- Vishal Marwaha and Attar Singh Negi -- who were also asked to appear informed the Vigilance Bureau that they could not come due to ill health.
