Vijayan, new Registrar of Newspapers

I Vijayan has assumed charge of Office of Registrar of Newspapers of India in Chennai, a PIB release said.

The former Editor of 'Yojana' (Thittam in Tamil), the flagship publication of the erstwhile Planning Commission for eight years was also the head of Regional News Unit of state-run All India Radio in Tiruchirapalli, it said.

He joined Indian Information service as a Group B Officer in 1993, it added.
