Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam today said the poll percentage in the city was "average" and not as expected.
"It was average and not as expected. Till 3.30 pm, it was 41.32 per cent and it is expected to go up to around 45 per cent till the end of voting," Nirupam told PTI.
"We hope that those who cast their vote, expressed their disillusionment with the Sena-BJP, who ruled the city for two decades. The two parties also changed the political discourse by targetting each other during the campaign. We are hoping that the voters supported the Congress," he said.

He said substantial percentage of middle-class voters could not cast their votes as their names were missing from the voters list prepared by the civic body.
"We have to find out whether it was deliberate," the Congress leader said adding that the party will take a call on the complaint after getting detailed feedback.
