Wall collapse: Chairperson of medical college, 5 others booked

: The chairperson of a medical college and five others, including his son, were today booked under Sections of the IPC over the wall collapse at a nearby medical college yesterday, which left seven workers injured.

Radhakrishan, chairperson of Meenakshi medical college, his son, two engineers and two contractors were booked under Section 337 (causing hurt by endangering life or personal safety of others) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by endangering life or personal safety of others), police said.

The under construction wall at the college at nearby Karapettai had collapsed yesterday, injuring seven workers.

They were at first admitted to the college Hospital, and later four of them were shifted to the General Hospital in chennai on the District Collector.
 

One of the injured, a woman, is stated to be in critical condition

Police had registed an FIR late last night on a complaint from a Village Administrative Officer.
