Wanted history-sheeter nabbed in AP

An alleged history-sheeter wanted in several serious criminal cases in Tamil Nadu was nabbed by a special team from his hideout in Andhra Pradesh and brought here, police said today.

The accused, an associate of gangster Chera, Anbu alias "Karimedu Anbu" alias "Anbazhagan" was arrested from his hideout at Kalahasti near Tirupati.

Even while staying at Kalahasti, 120 kms from here, he allegedly continued his criminal activities in North Chennai's Pulianthope and Redhills areas, police said.

His alleged criminal activities include holding Kangaroo courts, intimidating businessmen and seeking extortion from them in North Chennai.

The accused has 21 criminal cases against him including murder and attempt to murder cases, they said.
 

He had been detained under Goondas Act thrice in the past.
