The ongoing water and sewage projects in the city have been affected due to demonetisation and if cash crunch continues, all projects will come to a standstill, Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra said today.

The Minister reviewed all the ongoing water and sewage projects in the city.

"Petty contractors and labourers are the worst affected. Labour availability has been hit massively and all workshops-related repair works have been almost stalled. Next 10 days are very crucial. If cash crunch continues, all projects will come to a standstill," he said.

Mishra said no new tender or work is possible as "bank guarantee" and "earnest money" are not being issued due to workload at banks.

"If things continue like this for more than a month, preparations for next summer will be affected," he said.
